LYRICS

“Wounded Tree”

Yeah, that’s me

A wounded tree

Can’t run and hide

I’m here for all to see

Can’t float away or disappear

Take a boat across the ocean

Come back in a year

I’ve been here for awhile

Probably look my age

Behind the ghost of a smile

Nothing much has changed

Still got my twisted knee

And my crooked spine

Nobody’s rings are perfect

Especially mine

Yeah, that’s me

A wounded tree

Can’t run and hide

I’m here for all to see

Can’t float away or disappear

Take a boat across the ocean

Come back another year

And in my hardened skin

I hold my head up high

Just don’t look too closely, baby

Around the other side

You’ll see the damage done

All exposed to the world

And one by one

Leaves return to the earth

Yeah, that’s me

A wounded tree

Can’t run and hide

I’m here for all to see

Most never know

Some feel the pain

And hold you closer

Again and again

Nobody’s rings are perfect

Especially mine

“Healing Seed”

A giant seed

Appeared in the yard

Don’t know where it came from

But it’s as big as a car

Did it fall from above

Or climb up from below

Is it good or evil

Or just something for show

Seemed to be a sign

Easy to receive

Was it here for you, love

Or was it here for me

The healing seed

Gives us what we need

The healing seed oh, I believe

People came to look

To try and see inside

What’s it gonna take

To bring this thing to life

Seasons passed It laid still as a grave

Does it know what we’re thinking

Can it hear what we say

Nature never tells

What she’s gonna do

Just gotta have patience

The healing seed

Gives us what we need

The healing seed I do believe, I do believe, yeah

When we moved away

It followed us around

It would show up wherever

We laid roots in the ground

And seasons passed

And nothing grew

Was it here for me

Or is it here for you
